We're over 125 strong - good-hearted volunteers, community members, schools, businesses that work together to make a difference in the community of Whitecourt, Alberta.
We create positive initiatives that benefit our community. Our unique programs & services allow for out-of-the box thinking and partnerships with various organizations that solve local issues from the grassroots up.
We are advocates for youth, vulnerable populations, and our environment.
How You Can Help
We are always looking for good-hearted volunteers to help with the following tasks:
Bottle Pick Up – This involves picking up bottles from a list of locations and delivering them to The Community Box Garage – We currently have a schedule for pick ups and the approximate time it takes is 2 hours per day. We have a truck that our volunteers our able to use once a clean drivers abstract has been obtained.
Bottle Sorting – Sorting is done at our sorting garage – time commitment is approximately 2 hours per day – Our current bottle sorting days are Tuesday and Thursday 1-3 and one 2 hour time frame over the course of the weekend.
Food Preparation – Most of our food prep is done Monday mornings at one location – Time commitment is approximately 1.5-2 hours.
Breakfast Program – We currently run breakfast programs at Ecole St. Marys and Ecole St. Josephs – We are currently looking to start a breakfast program at Pat Hardy Elementary school, however, we don’t have enough volunteers to run it – Time commitment at any of the schools would be form 8:15-9:00 a.m. each morning.
Celebration Night – This is our biggest fundraiser and we are always seeking volunteers to help out both in the weeks leading up to the event and also the night of the event itself – time commitments vary.
Various Fundraising Events – We are always taking on odds and ends fundraising events and our always looking for people interested in volunteering and having a good time while doing it.
